Question:
I have a question.
Recently diagnosed with melanoma. I had surgery last week to remove a
larger area around the original area and a biopsy on the sentinel lymph
node.
The radiologist (here in southern California) who injected the radioactive
medicine to map my lymph system said that the Australians were many years
ahead of most in treatment of melanoma. So I am assuming that they must
have some well respected doctors and treatment centers for melanoma. And is
it proven that the treatments are statistically more successful? Are they
able to do things that are not yet approved in the United States?
Is there anyone here that can shed some light on this?
Answer:
I really can't answer any of your questions other than to note that an
apparently successful vaccine treatment for melanoma has been approved for
use in Austrailia.
