Question:
The sun has not been good to me.
Tried fake-baking several years ago, loved the look, hated what it did to my
skin.
So this year I have decided to use sunscreen faithfully (just ordered City
Block spf 15 for everyday, and Super City Block spf 25 for sun
days...Clinique) on my face. I have used this brand before, and my face
seemed to like it okay. No irritation, etc.
Still looking for an everyday body sunscreen to wear under my favorite
scented lotions, that won't be sticky. Any recs?
Second, I want to self tan on my body so that I'm not pasty-white, but not
so much that my face looks ghostly in comparison. Don't want to self tan my
face and have to worry about the neck, where to stop, changing make-up, etc.
I have seen this look of tanned arms, legs, and a white face, and I don't
like it at all. So I plan to swoop a little bronzer on my face when I self
tan my body.
I have read all the recent info in the magazines, and *they* recommend *not*
to mix tanners with moisturizers, even though I would be tempted to do so. I
just want to do the arms and legs, and not hassle with neck and back, etc.
What do you all think?
Are there some brands of self-tanners that mix better with lotions?
Are there ingredients in some lotions that should be avoided?
*They* say to moisturize before and after self-tanning in order to make it
last, so why is it a problem to mix the two in order to get a more subtle
color?
Answer:
I did try mixing the 2 as an experiment (with Banana Boat lotion
Light/Medium, just fyi) and noticed that the color didn't take at all.
Plus, it still smelled
bad. I rec against it. You should be able to find a moisturizing
tanner. (My problem is to find one that *isn't* too moisturizing!)
