Question:
I am about to approach my final year (approx 9 months- academic
year) of my degree. I will have to walk to and from college (about
two and a half miles each way). I have found a sunscreen that
doesn't cause the usual peeling, however, I do notice that I flush
more easily wearing it and get the usual swelling. However, as I
said, I am going to have to be exposed to sunlight for however long
it takes to get to and from Uni.
So what should I do? Wear the sunscreen and aggravate the redness or
expose my face to UV?
Answer:
You can purchase SPF hats on line at a number of sites.
I have a wide-brimmed hat that provides SPF 50 coverage. It really saved me
last summer when I was unable to tolerate any topicals, including sunscreen.
They may look like something you wouldn't wear, but hey, better that than
causing further skin damage.
As I said, there are any number of online sites where you could shop, if you
do a search for somethign like "SPF hats".
