Question:
you know how everyone always preaches about safe sun, well whenever I
got out in the sun I wear sunscreen. (23-30+ on my face and 30+ on my
body) I reaply after getting out of the water or rubbing off and
several other times during the day plus its waterproof. So why is it
that I still get tan to really tan during the summer? I don't burn
useually (thanks to the sunscreen), I just tan. I've always wondered
this.
Answer:
Sunscreen, and even sunblock, doesn't block all of the sun's
rays. If you're wearing SPF 30, it (supposedly) gives you 30%
more protection from the rays than nothing. And it depends on
your skin, as well. I can wear sunblock 40 and still burn if I
stay in the sun long enough.
