It contains Phenoxyethanol (an alcohol), but Linda Sy's ZincO
contains it too. And, of course, a few parabens, but what sunscreen
or moisturizer does not contain these (the only one I know is
Vanicream)?
Has anybody tried this yet?
Answer:
Before I knew I had rosacea when I would drink I would get these red
puffy patches all over my face after the first few sips. I would wait
about a half hour and after they were gone I could continue to drink
without any more flare ups.
I too thought I had developed an allergy to alcohol (I drink the hard
stuff, not beer or wine with lots of histamine) so I went to the
allergist and had a prick test. She said I was not allergic to alcohol
at all.
Later that year I was diagnosed with rosacea. But I refused to give up
a cocktail now and then. Sooo what I did was bought some children's
liquid Benadryl. I would take a teaspoon or so about a half hour
before I had a drink, and would not get any red itchy patches or swell
up at all. I don't do it often, but if I am going to a wedding
reception or something and want to imbibe but dont want to look like a
tomato, I do the same. It doesnt make me very goofy at all either.
