Question:
generally don't wear sunscreen on a daily basis (i know, i know)..but
yesterday i got quite burned (in Pittsburgh of all places, i never get burned here)..and decided I need to start with sunscreen. The problem is that I need something that won't make me break out (I have acne prone skin) and that is light enough to possibly use under foundation. I've used clinique city block in the past but i don't really like it and I'm not sure if it's non comedogenic.
Preferably high end (but nothing extremely excessive-like la prarie and
chanel)...I'm going to go to SoHo today..would 5s or shu uemura have something?
Or maybe sephora?
Answer:
You might want to try Peter Thomas Roth Ultra Light Sunblock SPF 30.
It's oil-free and pretty light. There's also Estee Lauder Daywear for
oily skin with SPF 15.
Shu Uemura makes an extremely light, matte sunscreen called UV Underbase
which is like a mousse, but in the reformulation it's a little more
foamy than moussey and takes a little while to sink in. But it's the
lightest there is. All of these would be at the Soho Sephora. Also, the
Paula B. non-greasy sunscreen is good, although you have to order from
her website(www.cosmeticscop.com). And I really like Awake's Gentle
Protection Cream, SPF 16. It's at Bendels.
If you go by Cosmetics Plus, there's the Exuviance by Neostrata
Essential Protection Fluid for normal to oily which has 8%AHA and SPF
15. They also make a sensitive/oily skin version that has less AHA.
It's very light, and absorbs easily but has a kind of strong perfumey
smell which for me is its only drawback.
All of these have strong UVA protection. I'm a little obsessed with
sunscreen.
