Question:
needless to say i did NOT join everyone by the pool yesterday. i went
through far too much trouble keeping my skin white to ruin it. no way
i'm trusting a bottle of sunblock either. sides, doesn't the latest
research indicate that while sunblocks keep you white, they don't
necessarily guard against skin cancer? there's going to be lots of mad
pasty women out there who are every bit as prone to skin legions as
those bronze hawaiian tropic babes. face it, goths are better off in
this regard.
Answer:
That's rather silly. :) There really is no need to hide from the sun. Just be
sensible. Hell - if it's just your pallor you're worried about, I suggest you
buy yourself a rash suit. Yes it comes in black if you need it to be that
goth. I mean, swimwear really isn't terribly goth, neither is surfwear, but
the activities used for are *fun*.
I spent yesterday afternoon, swimming and lying on a beach in Cape May, NJ.
The only colour I got was in my cheeks and a smidgin on my nose.
Your solutions are to buy a decent swimsuit that covers more skin, buy a
rashshirt, or a whole suit, or start wearing a t-shirt and board shorts. Learn
to cover yourself up, (don't forget a hat that covers both neck, nose and
ears..) and wear a decent sunblock. Yeah, you'll pay more, but it'll be worth
it if this makes you so angsty and unhappy. *shrug*
I don't see the point in wallowing in misery about such a simple thing to
solve. Buck up chikin. :)
