Question:
Has anyone tried Coppertone sunblock *GEL* yet?
It looks like it is a lightweight gel and it
comes in spf 15 and 30. If it is more comfortable than sticky sunblock
then I am gonna wear this stuff all summer!
Please let me know if any of you have tried it, yet!
Answer:
Hope your skin is on the oily side, because the gel is alcohol based.
I tried it when it first came out, and it _was_ better than the greasy
stuff that made my face break out. And after about a month, it started
burning my skin when I put it on. At first I thought I'd developed an
allergic reaction to the sunblock (that's an "Oh SHIT" kinda thing for
someone with lupus), but it turned out that the gel had just dried my
skin out too much. I still wear it during the winter now (I wear SPF
50, 60, and 65 sunblocks during the summer). The Coppertone oilfree
stuff was actually much kinder to my skin, but I can't layer it with
a block that has titanium dioxide like I can the gel.
