Can you recommend a good sunblock?

Question:
Finding a good, non-oily high, non-greasy feeling SPF sunblock seems to be a problem. I need a 45 or higher SPF sunblock for my face and 30 or higher SPF for rest of body. Aveena puts out a 50 SPF compact but is expensive and only comes in one tint. Fruit of the Earths/s 50 SPF Block Up' works well but feels heavy and leaves a greasy feeling. Coppertone's Water Babies 45 SPF works instantly but again feels heavy and greasy. Hawaiian Tropic Cler Zinck 45 SPF gives a whitish cast as does L'Oreal Ombrelle 60 SPF. L'Oreal is great for my face if I use a translucent powder to absorbe the oil. While it does feel heavy, it is my current choice. Hawaiian Trop 30 SPF Sport Bio Degradable has a nice feel but you can still tell it is on and is not quite as high SPF as I would like. Any recommendations? Any yes, I do wear protective clothing and wide brim hats to help with sun protection.

Answer:
Try Banana Boat Ultra Sunscreen. It is more a cream than a lotion so it is not so messy to apply. It was highly rated by Consumer Reports Magazine. It costs much less than many other products but was actually considered better than most major brands. It is sort of heavy but if you rub it in, then it is fine. You may find that leaves the white cast that you mentioned but if you apply it correctly it isn't much of a problem. I used Coppertone in the past and like Banana Boat much better because it is much easier to apply. The product doesn't have a heavy scent, and that is nice. I like the tube too, stands on end and the top flips open easily so you aren't left with a messy lid.

Check those SPF numbers. Consumer Reports mentioned something about those numbers and said if you are paying for more than SPF 30 that you really are not getting any higher levels of protection despite the higher number. Also check to see that any sunscreen product you choose offers both UVA and UVB protection.
