Question:
i've problems with building a gateway in my solaris. i;ve installed
ipfilter successfully with the conf files set properly, plus enabled the
ip_forwarding and have an empty /etc/gateways on my solaris (and no
/etc/defaultrouter). however, the NAT didnt work. then i installed SunScreen
Lite also. after that, i found that the NAT works but only with the help of
SunScreen Lite plus ipfilter. ie, when i turned off the ipfilter, the NAT's
not working. any idea? i want to have the ipfilter only.
Answer:
You're probably better off removing ipfilter completely, and getting
sunscreen running.
I can tell you 100% that NAT works fine with SunScreen lite.
PS: dont forget you need to manually enable ip_forwarding=1,
whether you are using sunscreen or ipfilter.
