Is the heal the warning sign of skin cancer?

Question:
does *any* type of skin cancer heal? let's say you had a squamous cell carcinoma and the doctor didn't get it all upon excision. would it still scab over and heal with cancerous tissue remaining underneath, or would the carcinoma just grow back to the surface?

i guess my real question is: if a sore heals, is that the end of it? if any danger remains under the surface, would you eventually have warning signs on the skin again?

Answer:
Had this happen. Had a Basil Cell Carcinoma removed by a plastic surgeon. Yes, it healed completely. Went back to my dermatologist maybe 6 months later asked her to look at the same spot. She didn't think it had come back but froze it anyway. Maybe 6 months passed, I bypassed the dermatologist, went directly to a Moh's surgeon. Yes, to was Basil Cell and yes it could happen again. I believe I read that once it happens the chance of it happening again are higher (can't remember the %).

To answer your question...yes, it healed over and yes, it grew back on the surface.
