Question:
As you know, about 9% of renal recipients has reported to have new cancer after
transplant.
Of course, there're risky factors such as older and male recipients.
Also, about a half of cancer is skin cancer.
M question is that I'd like to hear somebody's advise and experience for this
issue.
For example, tips to prevent skin cancer through sun cream or experience to
treat cancer
after organ transplant. Soory for my question on harsh issue.
Thanks always, everyone. All of you out there are real hero and heroine of my
son in this special journey.
Answer:
Bit of an interesting one ! The best advise for transplant patients re
skin cancer is wear sun Block, in the UK you can get this on
prescription.
If you are not a transplant patient it pay's to be kind to your skin
anyway!
Myself. I developed a cancer after nine years with my 2nd transplant.
Yhere were 2 growths, one behind my stomach, one attached to my liver.
It took 18 months for the renal team to diagnose, and the chemo, and
after treatment took a very big toll on my health!
It was *thought* to be caused by immunosuppresants!!
