Can you suggest me what to do with my dog when it has skin cancer?

Question:
Just when we got over a tick being on one of my border collies, now have noticed the other border collie has a small black mark/lump on his face close to his nose, does not look like a tick but as this border collie is mostly white (with a few black markings and short haired) and is especially white on the face around the nose and eyes, has black ears thankfully, the area around the nose and eyes is also rather pink but have now noticed this small black looking spot and wondered if it might be skin cancer. We live in Australia were the sun can be quite harsh, the dog is 2 years old and is fit and healthy in every way, eating as normal, shows no sign of illness, just concerned, been trying to find an image of what a skin cancer on a dog would look like but so far have not found anything at all that could look like what my dog has. Has anyone got any suggestions.

Answer:
Take the dog to the vet to have it checked. Cancer if caught and treated early can be cured. Around the face area it is especially important to get it looked at ASAP. This area is not easy to treat and the sooner it's done the better chances for survival.

Also invest in some baby block and put it on the dogs nose and face. My dog Barney had a pink tipped nose and all it took was 30 minutes out in the sun for him to get a burn. I routinely put sun block on his nose and on the top of his muzzle where the fur was thinnest also don't forget the ear tips.
