Anyone gone through treatments for Basal Cell Skin Cancer?
o - Are there other effective techniques than Mohs Micrographic
Surgery?
o - If you have experience with Mohs (nose or face in particular), I would like to hear about it. I am concerned about healing and/or
scars in removing a somewhat small facial basal cell cancer.
What are the chances of having visible scars on the nose or face?
o - How long does the healing take?
o - Should a plastic surgeon or the dermatologist perform the
surgery?

Yes, wide local excision is effective; Moh's has the advantage of remove
the minimum amount of tissue required for a "cure".

Actually, you probably would get a good result from either a plastic
surgeon or dermatologist as the operation would be essentially the same.
No lesion can be removed without leaving a scar, but surgeons trained in
cosmetic techniques (dermatologist, surgeons, otolaryngologists etc.)
probably can hide the scar in your natural skin lines the best.
