Question:
Is metastic melignant melanoma cancer curable? My fiancee has it
on his adrenal gland, spleen, and liver. What is his survival rate?
Answer:
Few people with metastatic malignant melanoma are cured of their
disease, and most patients with as much disease as described in
this letter have less than one year to live. For a very young,
and healthy patient, aggressive immune therapy leads to a few
(less than 5%) long term survivors.
