Question:
My sister in law, 42 y.o. was diagnosed with melanoma several
weeks ago. Lympho system is badly damaged. She had a small "thing"
removed 5 years ago from her leg, and all tests were clear
since then.
Now she started undergoing chemotherapy after a short course
of interferon.
We heard about a method of treatment involving cesium.
Does anybody know any details ? Any doctors practicing it?
And any other suggestions regarding alernatives to chemotherapy?
Answer:
There are a number of treatments based on antibodies to melanomas --
some generated from the tumor and others based on proteins (relatively)
specific to melanomas. Perhaps the cesium based treatment is an antibody
to which radioactive cesium has been applied.
