Does FDA to put restrictions on sunscreen labels?

Question:
FDA to put restrictions on sunscreen labels? I copied this from another forum... I thought I had heard something about this before. Anyone has any other info, feedback, etc.?

Subject: Re: Restricting suncreen labeling? Date: 1999/06/17 Author: Sam Posting History

This is important and has been discussed a lot in rec.triathlon. The new guidelines do not go into effect for a while so you might want to stock up on the SPF 45 before it is gone.

Answer:
Ok not to play devil's advocate here but what about the news, myth, information, or legend, that anything above SPF 15 was worthless? Or rather that there was really no such thing as SPF higher than 15? Are they trying to say that there's no difference between 12 and 15? or 4 and 8? I mean for the kids I buy 45 (I figure if they make it, it has to be *somewhat* better than 15), but I would definitely like some clarification on this if anyone knows.
