Can you recommend me way to detect basal cell lip cancer?

Question:
Is there any way to detect basal cell lip cancer other than a tissue biopsy.

Answer:
It is often diagnosable with a high degree of certainty just by clinical examination, if the examiner knows what to look for. Basal cell cancer of the vermillion border (red part of the lip) is very rare, by the way. Squamous cell cancer is much more common.
