Question:
I was looking through the beautycenter.co.uk website and noticed a large
variety of sunblocks being sold. Unfortunately, although this is the
English-language site, many of the listings are still in French, but I was
able to get the basic meaning of the listings. I also did a bit of googling
but wasn't able to find a lot of info.
Specifically, I'm interested in the Avene creme solaire, which is spf60 and
which comes in both tinted and untinted versions; this supposedly contains
titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and something that is referred to as a
"micronized organic sunscreen", tinosorb M cinnimate (?) This product also
comes in a "lait" version which I assume to be a thin milky consitency.
Avene also makes a purely mineral sunblock, which has an spf50 and comes in
just the creme.
So...Has anyone had any experiences with any of these Avene sunblocks? I
have sensitive skin that can't handle gel-type formulas and would also like
something that spreads easily, isn't drying, and won't clog pores or be too
greasy.
Answer:
As for me, I took the plunge and ordered the tinted SPF60. It does have that mysterious "organic sunblock" (sounded
suspiciously "chemical" to me), despite the fact that I've been trying to stick to physical-only
sunblocks, but I decided to give it a go. The Avene products are pretty cheap; it's only the
shipping that's expensive, and I wanted to order some other stuff that was on the site anyway.
