Question:
Can you name some kinds of melenoma?
Answer:
There are several types of malignant melanoma. One, the acral
lentigenous type, is known to have low correlation with sun exposure. As
it turns out, acral lentigenous malignant melanoma is known for forming
somewhat disproportionately at/near fingernails and toenails. Others,
especially the two most common kinds (superficial spreading and nodular),
are known to have high correlation with sun exposure - especially from
severe sunburns. (Chronic exposure not leading to severe sunburns is more
favorable to basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, but does also
contribute to malignant melanomas.)
